スペインに来て3日目。
バルセロナ近郊のリゾート地、サンタ・スサナにあるドンエンジェルホテルへ移動し、いよいよサマーキャンプが始まりました。
この日は前日入りしている参加者を対象としたウェルカムクラスが行われ、約50名が参加しました。
世界レベルの身体操作と、姿勢を軸にした指導
前半は、パウロ師範（極真会館松井派 第10回世界大会ベスト16）が指導。
現役を退かれてからかなりの年月が経っていると思いますが、その身体操作と技のキレは今なお圧巻でした。
そして何より印象的だったのは、姿勢の重要性を軸にした指導内容です。
競技レベルに関係なく、すべての空手家に必要なことを分かりやすく伝えられており、私も楓も多くの学びがありました。
後半は楓がウェルカムクラスを指導
後半は、楓が指導を担当。
ステップインからの順手突きをテーマに、予備動作を極限まで減らし、前足に体重が乗った瞬間にはすでに突きが当たっている状態をつくること、そしてそこからの技の展開について実演を交えながら説明しました。
予備動作を減らし、相手が反応する前に突きを到達させる。
単に速く動くだけではなく、姿勢・重心移動・身体の連動を整えることで、実戦で使える突きへつなげていきます。
参加者の皆さんはとても真剣に耳を傾け、積極的に実践してくださいました。
楓にとっても、このような国際的な場で指導する経験は大きな財産になったと思います。

そして、いよいよ明日からサマーキャンプが本格スタート。

このような経験は、一生の中でもそう何度もできるものではありません。
この貴重な機会を与えてくださった杉原賢亮館長、そしてお声掛けくださったジョナサン・ティネオ師範に心より感謝申し上げます。
この経験を日本へ持ち帰り、道場の子どもたちや選手たちへ還元できるよう、最後までしっかり学んできます。

Summer Camp in Spain Begins!
It is now our third day in Spain.
We travelled to Hotel Don Ángel in Santa Susanna, a seaside resort near Barcelona, where the summer camp has finally begun.
On this day, a welcome class was held for participants who had arrived early, with approximately 50 karate practitioners taking part.
World-Class Body Mechanics and the Importance of Posture
The first half of the class was led by Shihan Paulo Estenssoro, who reached the final 16 at the 10th Kyokushin World Open Tournament.
Although many years have passed since he retired from active competition, his body mechanics and the sharpness of his techniques remain truly impressive.
What stood out most was the way his instruction focused on the importance of posture.
He explained principles that are essential for every karate practitioner, regardless of competitive level, in a clear and accessible way. Both Kaede and I learned a great deal from the session.
Kaede Leads the Second Half of the Welcome Class
Kaede led the second half of the class.
The theme was a step-in lead-hand straight punch, or jun-te-zuki.
He explained how to reduce telegraphing to an absolute minimum, so that the punch lands at the very moment the body weight shifts onto the front leg.
He also demonstrated how to connect this movement to combinations and follow-up techniques.
Everyone listened with great concentration and actively worked to apply the techniques for themselves.
For Kaede, the opportunity to teach in such an international environment was an invaluable experience, both as a competitor and as an instructor.
A Summer Camp Bringing Together Around 230 Karate Practitioners
The full summer camp will officially begin tomorrow.
We have been told that approximately 230 participants from countries around the world will be attending.
Opportunities like this do not come along often.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Kancho Kensuke Sugihara for giving us this valuable opportunity, and to Shihan Jonathan Tineo for inviting us to Spain.
We will continue learning throughout the camp so that we can bring these experiences back to Japan and share them with the children and competitors at our dojo.
